Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry has been extending excellent contribution in the field of academics and non-academic areas.

The success rate of the learners has been consistently above 90% in the end-semester examinations.
To support the teaching-learning activity the department has also produced Interactive CDs incorporating latest inputs in the subject.
The Department has conducted one day Workshop on “Trends in Nano Technology” on 22nd September 2008.

Two of the staff members Dr. Y. Rajeshwer Rao were awarded Major Research Project in Bio diesel Production by UGC during 2008 and Sri.K.Sathish Babu awarded with one minor research project in “Micellar Mediated Hypervalent Chromium Reaction-Synthetic and Kinetic study”.
Two members completed UGC Minor Research projects.
The department has so far enabled quite a number of students over the years enter institutions like IITs, IISc, Research programmers in various universities.
The Department has been helping the students launch their careers at places like Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Infosys, Bank of America, EMRI 108, Medical Transcription Jobs and other companies.
Special process was developed where in biodiesel was produced at Rs.35/-per litre.a press conference was arranged to highlight the process.
Manuscript was published in polish journal of chemical technology, Jan 2012 issue. Two more papers published on the same topic in International journals.
