During the last five years, the Department of Economics has been guiding the students prepare for Civil Exams and other Competitive Examinations providing with training sessions after the regular college hours. The response has been good and encouraging. A number of students availed this opportunity and got greatly benefited.

The Department has been arranging counseling sessions for Economics students in the area of subject specialization studies at places like, Central University and other such institutions.

One of the best practices initiated and adopted by the Department is introducing project work for the VI Semester students, which is mandatory.

Students are taken on field visit to different market yards to make an assessment of the prices in the market and various causes for inflation and other related matters.

  • Semester Result has been consistently outstanding.

  • Regular field visits are arranged by the Department.

  • Subject experts are invited from the local University Departments and guest lectures are arranged.

  • The in-charge of the Department is helping the Telugu Academy prepare textbooks for undergraduates and +2 students across the State of Andhra Pradesh.

  • The in-charge of the Department is also the Controller of Examinations at Government City College, Hyderabad.

Activities 2016-17

Conducted Interdisciplinary National Seminar "Livelihood Security and Rural Transformation in India: Programmes, Implementation and Challenges" held on March 3rd and 4th, 2017.

The Department of Economics conducted a Guest Lecture on ‘’Demonetization – Its impact on economy” on January 9, 2017.  The resource person for the guest lecture was Mr. Naveen Shankar Mangalam, Manager, State Bank of Hyderabad.
The immediate impact was on the ban on Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 500/- notes which resulted in the elimination of the fake currency and one step towards cashless society.
